Description
Docker is getting more and more hyped lately. But what is it that everybody talks about?
Docker is an open-source project to easily create lightweight, portable, self-sufficient containers from any application. The same container that a developer builds and tests on a laptop can run at scale, in production, on VMs, bare metal, OpenStack clusters, public clouds and more.
Thus Docker allows you to run an application environment on your local machine without polluting your system with all the dependencies usually involved. Everything runs isolated and fast, and can be easily shared amongst colleagues.
Tutor
Because our first Docker workshop in Karlsruhe went really well, we’ve invited Johannes Schickling to rerun the workshop in Munich. Johannes will teach you how to use Docker for your own projects and cover everything from setting up your development environment to deploying Docker containers to production.
Prerequisites
Please bring your own computer running OS X or Linux.
